Dear Jean:

	I just received a brief letter from Stoyan with a copy of
his book on LISP.  He asked me to tell you that he can't come.
There was something about a telegram being referred to in a letter,
and I suppose it was part of the excuse the authorities gave him.

	As I said in the beginning, inviting Stoyan was a long shot,
but still think it was worth doing.

	The book on LISP omits his chapters on history.  The consideration,
%2"Why make so much of what the imperialists do?"%1 that he mentioned
in Leningrad was evidently decisive.
